Report "Disinformation in Polish Society: 2024 Edition"
82% of Poles notice that the amount of false information has significantly increased over the past decade, and 84% admit to encountering fake news, as indicated by the latest report "Disinformation in Polish Society: 2024 Edition" prepared by the Digital Poland Foundation. Project thesis defense "Evaluation of the usefulness of biometric data measurements through the implementation of a custom video game focusing on a cognitive approach"
On Monday, January 8, 2024, the defense of the project "Assessing the relevance of biometric data measurements by implementing a customized video game focusing on a cognitive approach" took place. - Olivier Bouel de Mareuil and Robin Brissuaud.
It was implemented by the Laboratory of Media Studies UW, together with the Saint-Cyr Military Academy.
Cadets Olivier Boula de Mareuil and Robin Brissiaud worked programmatically in the Unreal 5 environment on the final result of the project, which is a puzzle game set in the building of a military base.
As part of their stay, in addition to producing the game, pilot tests were conducted, and the cadets gained knowledge in game design and conducting biometric tests.
Report from the Human Tech Transition Conference: Crises in Mediatized Politics, Society & Economy
Last week, Warsaw became the hub of scientific debate on the coexistence of humans with technology in the context of contemporary global crises. The University of Warsaw hosted the international scientific conference "Human Tech Transition: Crises in Mediatized Politics, Society & Economy," which was attended by over 130 researchers from nearly 30 countries worldwide. Among the discussed topics were the growing importance of artificial intelligence, misinformation during wartime, and communication regarding the climate crisis. The conference was organized as part of Action II.3.4 (Gamification of Worlds in the Service of the Modern Society of the 21st Century) of the Excellence Initiative - Research University, led by the team of the Laboratory of Media Studies UW under the direction of Prof. UW Tomasz Gackowski with the support of the Faculty of Journalism, Information, and Book Studies UW.
